DESCRIPTION:See history come to life when our WWII reenactors board the battleship USS ALABAMA and submarine USS DRUM for their drills.  These historical reenactors\, dressed in period uniforms\, tell the stories of the original crewmen.  Presentations and demonstrations throughout the day.  Live radio transmissions from Radio Central.  Be on the deck of the ALABAMA at 1:00 p.m. when “call to battle stations” is sounded.  Enemy airplanes will attack the ship and the crew members will defend her with guns blazing!   It’s an exciting time to be at the park.   All activities are included in the day’s admission.

Tim is a member of the Deep South Amateur Radio Club and one of the driving forces behind the restoration of Radio Central. He is a retired history professor. SUMMARY:Battleship Rugby Fall Tournament
DESCRIPTION:Battleship Rugby Club will host their annual fall tournament on the ground of the park.  This two day event features teams from all across the country\, playing on one of the most unique fields in the country.  Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy matches throughout both days.  Concessions sold on the grounds.  The event is free of charge and the public is invited to attend.  There is a $4 Park Entry Fee per car charged at the park’s gate.

SUMMARY:Living History Crew Drill
DESCRIPTION:Come see history come to life as our USS ALABAMA and USS DRUM historical reenactors come aboard.  This month’s drill will focus on the crewmen that originally fought on the USS ALABAMA.  Learn about the men and their service to the ship.  Be on deck at 1:00 p.m. for the “call to battle stations” and the battle reenactment\, featuring vintage airplanes.  (Planes fly based on weather conditions.)  Drill is in conjunction with the USS ALABAMA Crewmen’s Association Reunion.  Event is included in admission.
