SUMMARY:Blue Star Salute
DESCRIPTION:Come spend Armed Forces Day at Battleship Memorial Park as we celebrate the military during the state of Alabama’s Blue Star Salute celebration.  The day begins with at 5K Memorial Run/Walk at 7:00 p.m.  The Alabama 151st Army Band will perform a concert at 9:00 a.m.  Blue Star Salute will be held at 10:00 a.m.\,  At 11:15 a.m. the Silver Wings jump team will skydive into the park.  The Boy Scouts of America will hold a flag retirement ceremony at 11:30 a.m.  At Noon we will remember those Alabamians who have given their life in service to our country during the Gold Star Memorial Service.  We will conduct the wreath laying from the decks of the USS ALABAMA at 1:10 p.m. followed by a flyover at 1:15 p.m.  There will be a veterans service provider fair on the grounds as well. This is a day to celebrate those who are serving and those who have served.  The event is free of charge and the public is invited to attend.  There is a $4 Park Entry Fee per car.  For more information\, please visit their website or facebook page.  Race information will be there too.

SUMMARY:Independence Day Celebration
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Independence Day with us!  Due to heavy rains\, our field will not support vehicle weight.  The City of Mobile has moved the July 4th activities to Cooper Riverside Park\, on the banks of the Mobile River.  The fireworks show can be still be enjoyed from the park.  Our paved parking lot and interior roads will be open for parking.  Space is limited.  Parking opens at 5:00 p.m. $5 per car.  Concession tent open for hamburgers\, hot dogs and cokes.  No grills\, tents\, personal fireworks or alcohol allowed in Park.    This will be strictly enforced.  Fireworks show produced by the City of Mobile.
