DESCRIPTION:Dr. Tim Morgan will discuss how the USS ALABAMA’s communication system was used and how critical Radio Central was to the operation of the ship during WWII. After the presentation\, visitors can take a privately guided tour of Radio Central. Tim is a member of the Deep South Amateur Radio Club and one of the driving forces behind the restoration of Radio Central. He is a retired history professor. DESCRIPTION:It will be all hands on deck as the living history crews of the USS ALABAMA\, USS DRUM and our visiting crews come together for a day of WWII reenactments.  The Blue Anchor Belles will entertain with 1940s music at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on the deck.  It’s call to battle stations at 1:00 p.m. as vintage airplanes attack the ship in a mock battle scene.  Our crew members will defend the ship with guns blazing!  Activities planned throughout the day.  Included in admission.

DESCRIPTION:The 13th annual Memorial Day Flag Relay will wind through the streets of Mobile starting at 7:00 a.m. and end at Battleship Memorial Park.  Runners will carry the US flag and the Service flag\, paying tribute to those who have given their lives in service to our country.  The relay team should enter the park at approximately 10:30 a.m.\, stop and pay their respects in a “flag touch” at all of the US and Service flags throughout the park\, and end on the Fantail of the USS ALABAMA.  Please join us in welcoming the runners into the park.
