DESCRIPTION:Come spend Armed Forces Day at Battleship Memorial Park as we celebrate the military during the state of Alabama’s Blue Star Salute celebration.  The day begins with at 5K Memorial Run/Walk at 7:00 p.m.  The Alabama 151st Army Band will perform a concert at 9:00 a.m.  Blue Star Salute will be held at 10:00 a.m.\,  At 11:15 a.m. the Silver Wings jump team will skydive into the park.  The Boy Scouts of America will hold a flag retirement ceremony at 11:30 a.m.  At Noon we will remember those Alabamians who have given their life in service to our country during the Gold Star Memorial Service.  We will conduct the wreath laying from the decks of the USS ALABAMA at 1:10 p.m. followed by a flyover at 1:15 p.m.  There will be a veterans service provider fair on the grounds as well. This is a day to celebrate those who are serving and those who have served.  The event is free of charge and the public is invited to attend.  There is a $4 Park Entry Fee per car.  For more information\, please visit their website or facebook page.  Race information will be there too.

DESCRIPTION:USS ALABAMA CREWMATE CONTEST – Thursday\, MARCH 21\, 2018.  Interviews will be held aboard the Battleship and begin at 9:00 am.  All applicants must be present from 9:00 am until the winners are announced\, which will be that afternoon. \nInterviews are with a panel of judges not affiliated with the Battleship Commission and will last 8-10 minutes.  You will not be judged on USS ALABAMA Battleship history\, Alabama or Mobile history.
